How to Watch IPTV on Samsung & LG Smart TVs (No Firestick Needed) – 2026
You do not need a Firestick or an Android box to watch IPTV on a modern Samsung or LG TV. Both brands carry IPTV players in their own app stores, and most people can be watching a 24-hour free trial in about ten minutes. This guide covers which apps work on Tizen and webOS, how to find your TV's MAC address, the exact menus for each brand, and what to do when the app is missing from your store.
- Two kinds of TV players: login-based (IPTV Smarters Pro, uses your Xtream Codes username and password) and MAC-based (Smart IPTV, Smart STB), tied to the TV's MAC address.
- Samsung MAC: Settings › General › Network › Network Status. LG MAC: Settings › All Settings › General (or Network) › Wi-Fi Connection › Advanced.
- Request the 24-hour free trial first and enter your MAC in the form; the email brings an Xtream Codes login and an M3U link.
- TV older than 2019, or app missing from the store? A $30 Firestick is the simplest fix.
Which IPTV apps run natively on Samsung and LG TVs
Samsung TVs run Tizen and LG TVs run webOS. Neither is Android, so you cannot sideload an APK as you would on a Firestick; you get what Samsung Apps and the LG Content Store carry. The choice is smaller than on Android but good enough, and it splits into two families.
Login-based: IPTV Smarters Pro
Listed for Samsung Tizen models from 2019 onward and for LG webOS. You sign in with the Xtream Codes username, password and server URL from your trial email, exactly as on a phone; no MAC address and no activation fee are involved. Availability varies by region and model, though: most recent US-market TVs show it, some older or regional firmware builds do not. Search your store before you plan around it.
MAC-based: Smart IPTV, Smart STB and others
Smart IPTV (SIPTV) is the longest-running player on both platforms. Instead of a login it is tied to your TV's MAC address: you upload your playlist (an M3U link or your Xtream details) on the developer's activation web page and the app pulls it down. After a short free period the developer charges a small one-time activation fee per TV, paid to the developer and separate from your IPTV plan.
Smart STB works the same way but behaves like a classic set-top box. Other MAC-based players such as Flix IPTV and IBO Player follow the same MAC-and-activation steps; we have not tested them all and do not recommend them over the two above.
Before you start: request the trial and find your MAC
Start the trial first so the email is waiting when the app finishes installing. Open the IPTVLOAD free trial form, choose Samsung Smart TV or LG Smart TV as the device and pick your app. For a MAC-based app the form asks for your TV's MAC address; find it with the steps below and type it carefully. For IPTV Smarters Pro leave it blank.
Within a few minutes you receive a username, password and server URL (the Xtream Codes login) and usually an M3U link built from the same details. The trial runs 24 hours from activation and needs no credit card.
Samsung Smart TV setup (Tizen, 2019 and newer)
- Find the MAC address. Press Home, go to Settings › General › Network › Network Status and scroll to the MAC line (or open Settings › Support › About This TV, which lists the wired and wireless MACs). Use the one for the connection you are actually on.
- Install the app. Press Home, open Apps, select search and type the player's name. Select Install, then Open.
- Note the MAC the app shows. MAC-based apps display the address they will use on their first screen. If it differs from the settings menu, trust the app.
- Enter the MAC in the trial form, or send it to IPTVLOAD support if you already submitted. The trial playlist is linked to that address.
- Upload your playlist. On a phone or computer, open the app's activation web page (the address is on the TV screen), enter the MAC and paste either the M3U link or the Xtream server URL, username and password from your email. Save.
- Restart the app. Close it fully and reopen it. The channel list downloads and the guide fills in within a minute.
IPTVLOAD also publishes its own Samsung Smart TV tutorial with screenshots of the current Tizen menus.
LG Smart TV setup (webOS)
- Find the MAC address. Press the gear button, choose All Settings › General (Network on newer firmware) › Wi-Fi Connection › Advanced Wi-Fi Settings; the MAC is at the bottom. For a cable, open Wired Connection (Ethernet) instead.
- Install the app from the LG Content Store: press Home, open the store, search the player's name, select Install, then Launch.
- Note the on-screen MAC and enter it in the trial form if you have not already.
- Upload the playlist on the app's activation page using the M3U link or Xtream details from the email.
- Restart the app and wait for the channels to load.
On either brand, a USB keyboard plugged into the TV is the fastest way to type a long server URL.
Logging in with Xtream Codes in IPTV Smarters Pro
If IPTV Smarters Pro is in your store, skip the MAC steps entirely.
- Open the app, accept the terms and choose Login with Xtream Codes API.
- Any name: anything, such as “Living room”.
- Username and Password: exactly as in the email; they are case-sensitive.
- Server URL: the full address including
http://and the port, for examplehttp://example-server.com:8080. - Select Add User. Live TV, Movies and Series tiles appear once the list downloads.
For every setting in the app, see our IPTV Smarters Pro setup guide.

This is the most common dead end. Samsung TVs older than 2019, LG TVs on webOS 3 or earlier, and TVs sold in regions where the app is not listed will not show IPTV Smarters Pro, and some lack Smart IPTV too. Changing the TV's region setting is unreliable and can break other apps, so we do not recommend it. You have three realistic options.
- Add a Firestick. A $30 Fire TV Stick plugs into any HDMI port, runs every IPTV player including TiviMate, and gets updates faster than any TV store. Our Firestick setup guide takes five minutes.
- Add an Android TV box. Same software as a Firestick, plus an Ethernet port on most models, the single best upgrade for live TV stability.
- Cast from your phone. Run IPTV Smarters Pro on your phone and mirror it with AirPlay or screen mirroring if your TV supports it. Fine for a quick test, but your phone must stay awake and the picture depends on your Wi-Fi.
Picture settings and tips for a better stream
- Turn off motion smoothing for sports. Samsung calls it Auto Motion Plus or Picture Clarity (Settings › Picture › Expert Settings); LG calls it TruMotion (Settings › Picture › Advanced Settings › Clarity). It adds lag and artifacts to fast live streams.
- Use Ethernet. Every Samsung and LG TV has a LAN port, and a cable removes the Wi-Fi congestion behind most buffering. On Wi-Fi, use the 5 GHz network.
- Keep the firmware updated (Settings › Support › Software Update on both brands) and restart the TV once a week by unplugging it for 30 seconds; Smart TVs get sluggish when apps sit in memory for days.
Troubleshooting
Nothing loads after activation: check for a MAC typo
A MAC address is six pairs of characters, and one swapped letter leaves the TV looking at an empty playlist. Compare the MAC on the app's start screen with what you typed into the activation page and the trial form; the usual culprits are O for zero, B for 8 and missing colons. If the trial form had the wrong MAC, send the correct one to IPTVLOAD support and they can move the trial.
The app says “not activated”
This message comes from the app developer, not IPTVLOAD. MAC-based players give you a free period to try the app itself; afterwards the one-time activation fee is due on the developer's site. Pay it there, restart the app, and your playlist reappears. Your IPTVLOAD trial or plan is unaffected.
It worked yesterday and is gone today
Your 24-hour trial has ended, which is expected. Pick a plan and the new login arrives by email; upload it on the same activation page, or add it as a new user in IPTV Smarters Pro. Nothing needs reinstalling.
Channels play but the guide is empty
The EPG downloads separately and can take several minutes on first launch. In Smart IPTV, check that EPG is enabled in the app settings; in IPTV Smarters Pro, open Settings › EPG and refresh. If show times are off by whole hours, set the time shift to your US time zone. Persistent stuttering has its own fixes in our IPTV buffering guide.
Samsung and LG IPTV FAQ
Do I need a Firestick if I already own a Samsung or LG Smart TV?
Not if your TV is from 2019 or later and an IPTV player is in its store. Add a Firestick when the app is missing, when you want TiviMate (Android only), or when you want faster app updates than TV stores deliver.
Is Smart IPTV free?
The app has a short free trial, then the developer charges a small one-time activation fee per TV. That fee is set by and paid to the app developer, is separate from your IPTVLOAD trial or plan, and is shown on the developer's activation page.
Can I use the same trial on my TV and my phone?
Yes. The Xtream Codes login works in IPTV Smarters Pro on Android and iPhone. Standard plans allow one stream at a time, so stop playback on the TV before starting on the phone; multi-line packages cover several screens at once.
Will a new router or switching to Ethernet change my TV's MAC address?
A new router does not. Switching between Wi-Fi and Ethernet does, because each adapter in the TV has its own MAC. If you change connection type, re-upload your playlist to the new MAC or ask IPTVLOAD support to move it.
Which is better on a Smart TV: Smart IPTV or IPTV Smarters Pro?
IPTV Smarters Pro if your store has it: no fee, no MAC, and the same login as your phone. Smart IPTV when Smarters is not listed for your model or you prefer a classic channel-list layout. Either way, start with the free trial before paying.
