IPTV Smarters Pro Setup Guide (2026): Firestick, Android, iPhone, Smart TV & PC
IPTV Smarters Pro is the app most Americans use for their first IPTV trial: it is free, it runs on almost every device you own, and setup is one login screen. This guide covers installing it on Firestick, Android, iPhone, Samsung and LG TVs, Windows and Mac, the settings that matter, and fixes for the most common errors.
- IPTV Smarters Pro is a player, not a service. It has no channels until you log in with details from a provider such as the IPTVLOAD 24-hour free trial.
- Always pick Login with Xtream Codes API. It is the only method that gives you the full guide, catch-up and movie posters with no extra setup.
- One username, password and server URL works on every device you own.
- Two settings fix most playback problems: the decoder (hardware or software) and the stream format (MPEG-TS or HLS).
What is IPTV Smarters Pro?
IPTV Smarters Pro is a free, multi-platform IPTV player from WHMCS Smarters, the developer behind iptvsmarters.com. Think of it as a web browser for television: on its own it shows nothing, but give it a provider login and it displays that provider's live channels, program guide (EPG), movies and series in a clean, cable-box-style interface with search, favorites and parental controls.
It is the default first app in the US for three reasons: it runs on Fire TV, Android, iPhone and iPad, many Samsung and LG TVs, Windows and macOS; it natively supports the Xtream Codes API, the login format IPTVLOAD sends with every trial and plan; and the core features are free. Its weak spots are a plainer guide than TiviMate and no recording, so Android TV and Firestick owners should read our TiviMate setup guide next.
Request your login first. The IPTVLOAD free trial lasts 24 hours, needs no credit card, and the email with your username, password and server URL arrives in one to three minutes.
The three login methods (and which one to use)
The first screen after you accept the terms offers three ways in. They are not equal.
1. Login with Xtream Codes API (recommended)
You enter a profile nickname plus your username, password and server URL, which looks like http://example-server.com:8080 and must include http:// and the port. Xtream Codes gives you everything: categorized live TV, a working EPG, catch-up on supported channels, and movies and series with posters and resume points. IPTVLOAD's trial email is in this format, so pick this.
2. Load your playlist or file/URL (M3U)
An M3U playlist is a single long URL ending in .m3u or .m3u8. It plays, but the guide must be added separately as an XMLTV URL, movies and series appear as a flat list with no artwork, and a large lineup loads slowly. Use it only if a provider gives you nothing else.
3. Local file
Loads an .m3u file stored on the device. It is for people who build their own playlists; you can ignore it.
Install on Amazon Firestick and Fire TV
Smarters is not in the Amazon Appstore, so you sideload it with the free Downloader app. The short version:
- Install Downloader from the Appstore, then go to Settings › My Fire TV › Developer Options › Install unknown apps and switch Downloader on. If Developer Options is hidden, open About and press select on the device name seven times.
- Open Downloader and enter the Android/Fire TV download address shown on the developer's official website (iptvsmarters.com). Install the APK when prompted.
- Open IPTV Smarters Pro, choose Login with Xtream Codes API, and enter your trial details.
Every menu in order, plus fixes for “Install blocked” and low-storage errors, is in our Firestick IPTV free trial guide and IPTVLOAD's own Firestick tutorial.
Install on Android phones, tablets and Android TV
Phones and tablets: search for IPTV Smarters Pro in the Google Play Store. If it is not listed in your region, download the APK from the developer's official website and allow your browser to install apps when Android asks.
Android TV and Google TV (Chromecast with Google TV, Nvidia Shield, and Sony, TCL and Hisense Google TVs): search the Play Store on the TV. If it is not there, install Downloader from the Play Store and sideload the official APK as on a Firestick. IPTVLOAD has an Android TV tutorial. Login is the same as everywhere else: Login with Xtream Codes API.
Install on iPhone and iPad
The easiest install of all. Open the App Store and search for IPTV Smarters Pro; in some regions the listing is called Smarters Player Lite, which is the same developer and the same login screen. Tap Login with Xtream Codes API, enter your details, and the channel list downloads. Standard plans play one stream at a time, so pause the TV before watching on the phone.
Samsung (Tizen) and LG (webOS) Smart TVs
This is where it gets less predictable: IPTV Smarters is on some Samsung and LG models and not others, depending on model year and region. Search Samsung Apps or the LG Content Store for “IPTV Smarters”; if it appears, install it and log in with Xtream Codes as usual.
If not, you have two fallbacks. Smart IPTV is a different player that identifies your TV by MAC address rather than a username; the IPTVLOAD trial form has a MAC address field for this case. The better option is a $30 Firestick in a spare HDMI port: it updates faster than any TV app store and runs Smarters and TiviMate without compromise. Both routes are in our Samsung and LG Smart TV guide and IPTVLOAD's Samsung tutorial.
Windows and Mac
The desktop app for Windows and macOS is on the developer's official website. Install it and choose Login with Xtream Codes API; you get the TV interface driven with a mouse. It is handy for testing a trial at your desk or keeping a game on a second monitor.

Get My Free 24-Hour Trial →Settings worth changing
Open the gear icon at the top right. Most defaults are fine; these six are worth a look.
Player decoder: hardware or software
Under Player Settings the decoder defaults to hardware, which uses the device's video chip and gives the smoothest 4K playback. If you get audio with a black or green screen, stuttering, or one channel that never starts, switch to software (or back). Older Firesticks and budget Android boxes often prefer software on certain channels.
EPG time shift
Guide data is usually published in one time zone, so a show that is on right now may be listed an hour or more away. In EPG settings, change the time shift one hour at a time until the current program lines up with the screen; Eastern, Central, Mountain and Pacific viewers each need a different value.
Stream format: MPEG-TS or HLS
Live streams arrive as MPEG-TS (.ts) by default: fast to start and best on Ethernet or strong Wi-Fi. HLS (.m3u8) sends the stream in small chunks and is more forgiving on weak Wi-Fi and on iPhones. If channels stall or will not start, switch and test again.
Parental control
Set a PIN under Parental Control and lock any live category or movie genre you do not want the kids opening.
Auto-start and resume
Smarters can open on boot and resume the last channel, so a TV dedicated to IPTV behaves like a cable box: power on, channel appears.
Clear cache
If categories look stale after your provider adds channels, or the guide stops updating, use Clear Cache in the app's general settings. Your login is kept.
Using the EPG and catch-up
The EPG downloads automatically on first login with Xtream Codes; for a lineup of 18,000+ channels, give it a minute or two. Open it from the EPG button inside Live TV, or switch the live layout to grid view for a classic channel-and-timeline look. If the guide is empty, choose Refresh or Update EPG in EPG settings.
Catch-up plays programs that already aired. Channels that support it show a small clock or rewind icon; select it to browse the previous days and pick a show. Only channels the provider has enabled show the icon, which is normal. IPTVLOAD offers catch-up on supported channels, so test it during your trial.
Multi-screen view
The Multi-Screen tile splits the display into two, three or four players so you can follow several games at once. Each box counts as a separate stream against your plan's connection limit, so on a single-connection plan only one box will play; ask IPTVLOAD support about multi-connection plans if you want this. On modest hardware, two screens is the practical limit.
Troubleshooting IPTV Smarters Pro
“Invalid details” or “Invalid username or password”
Almost always a typo. Retype the username and password by hand, watching for O versus 0 and l versus 1, and confirm the server URL starts with http:// and ends with the port. If the details worked yesterday, your 24-hour trial has probably ended; a subscription uses the same login screen.
No EPG data
Refresh the EPG from settings and wait a minute. A few channels without data is normal and on the provider's side. If every channel is empty, confirm you logged in with Xtream Codes rather than M3U.
Audio but no video
Switch the decoder from hardware to software (or the reverse) in Player Settings. If that does not help, change the stream format.
App crashes on open
Clear the app's cache and data from the device settings, then log in again. If it still crashes, reinstall the latest version from the developer's official website, and on a Firestick make sure you have free storage.
Channels play but there are no posters, categories or catch-up
You logged in with an M3U URL. Log out and use Login with Xtream Codes API instead.
Buffering or freezing
Usually a Wi-Fi or device issue rather than the app. Work through our 12 buffering fixes in order.
IPTV Smarters Pro FAQ
Is IPTV Smarters Pro free?
Yes. The player is free on every platform with no premium tier to unlock. What you pay for is the IPTV service itself; IPTVLOAD plans start at $19 for one month, and the 24-hour trial costs nothing.
Does IPTV Smarters Pro include channels?
No. It is an empty player until you log in with a provider's details. The channels, guide, movies and series all come from the service you connect it to.
Can I use one login on several devices?
Yes. The same Xtream Codes details work in Smarters on your TV, phone, tablet and computer. Standard plans stream to one device at a time, so stop playback on one before starting on another, or ask IPTVLOAD support about multi-connection plans.
What is the difference between IPTV Smarters Pro and Smarters Player Lite?
They are from the same developer and use the same Xtream Codes login. Smarters Player Lite is the name you will see in the App Store in some regions; it is the version to install on iPhone and iPad.
Should I use IPTV Smarters Pro or TiviMate?
Smarters if you want one free app for every device, including iPhone and Smart TVs. TiviMate if you watch on a Firestick or Android TV and want the best guide and recording; its extra features cost a small fee. Many people trial with Smarters, then move the same login into TiviMate.
The app is ready. Now get the login.
